INFO
hi
Cat Nap Cottage is a jamjar-style, private sandbox in which characters are pulled to a fantasy bed and breakfast ran by magical animals who are in need of their assistance to keep their business running. Characters will be residents and employees of the B&B, given numerous tasks ranging from cleaning up after unruly guests to venturing out into a dungeon to collect materials. There will be a mix of Dungeons and Dragons-like adventures to slice of life prompts, and players can create their own expeditions and make good use of the game's quest board for rewards.
Rules
  1. You need an invite to play here. No exceptions!
  2. Be chill. Be kind, treat people with respect.
  3. Communicate. If someone is overstepping or making you uncomfortable, please try to work it out amongst yourselves before escalating it. I trust everyone here to be good about this, so please...
  4. Content warnings. Please be sure to warn for triggering subjects when appropriate.
  5. OOC Contact. Discord isn't necessarily required for OOC communication, so you don't need to join it if you don't want to, but there should be a way for people to reach you regardless.
Arrival
The reason for your character's arrival is entirely up to you. Perhaps they were bored and wanted new life experiences, or wanted to get out of a bad situation; whatever the reason may be, they will find themselves falling aslee nad waking up in a comfortable bed in the cottage. That bed is theirs. They will arrive with the clothes on their backs.
Powers and Abilities
Powers and weapons will be nerfed - nerfing levels are up to the individual, as long as characters 1) cannot one-shot everything, and 2) must put in a reasonable amount of effort to defeat enemies. A good starting point for what constitutes a "reasonable amount" could be: If your character is fighting an enemy, they should not be able to defeat them in two tags. You can handwave fights, put the entirety of it in one tag, etc. but they should have spent a good amount of time clearing these dungeons ICly.
Schedule
Cat Nap Cottage will be run on a flexible schedule, meaning that there will be no set rhyme or rhythm to when "mod" posts will go up. There will be occasional OOC posts that will go up for coordinating on this community, which you can re-use until the next one goes up for any plotting purposes.

Players will (and should) be given advance notice before sandbox-wide events go up, but the schedule is meant to leave plenty of room for people to run and thread out their own adventures while accommodating IRL schedules, because we are all busy and tired.
Characters
You can bring anyone you'd like to this game aside from real people, religious figures, online personas - stuff like that. There is no age limit or canon restrictions. If you want to bring doubles or AUs, please make sure to communicate with all parties involved before committing.
Other Game Mechanics
Rewards: There won't be any forms or required submissions for mod approval; any prompts that are designed to reward characters are there solely for the purpose of roleplaying them. You don't need to run anything by me, please just have fun!

Quest Board: Likewise, the Quest Board is there for you to post to without my approval. If you would like to organize a party of any size for an expedition, want someone to buddy up with for a job that an NPC would post (which you can make up if you'd like), etc. you can use the Quest Board.

Job Examples: There aren't really any official names for these, use your imagination, go wild. You can have several jobs if you really want to.
  • B&B: Cooks, waitstaff, cleaning, front desk, maintenance
  • Combat:Tank, healer, close-range combat (i.e. swordsman, axe wielder, etc.), long-range combat (i.e. gunslinger, archer), just. Fantasy stuff.
